Home Sweet Home
I know I haven’t posted anything in a while but my life in the past week and a half has been extremely hectic. Unfortunately, my father passed away while I was serving in Bulgaria, so, I had to leave for America real quick. (No worries I am returning to Bulgaria in a couple weeks). We will def miss my father. It is weird losing a parent and being so far away. I don’t think the realization that he was gone hit me until I got to Chicago and saw him in the casket. Sad times sad times.
On a brighter note being in America is nice. I didn’t realize that I missed being in the American culture. America has its issues but America is America i.e. fast and convenient. I love it!!! Bulgaria has its perks as well but it def isn’t America by any means. One of the things I thought I would miss was the café experience. Oddly enough I don’t miss sipping a shot of espresso for two hours in a Smokey café. Actually, right now I am sitting in a smoke free café with free internet and the coffee is great. I didn’t expect this in St. Louis. The place is packed with students and intellectuals. If you know me you know I love coffee from a Styrofoam cup with a plastic lid. Guess what I have at this very moment!!!! On top of that I am with my favorite person in the whole wide world… my twin sister Christine! Helping her study for finals is proving to be fun and enlightening. Although, we have spoken every week since I joined the Peace Corps we have changed a lot. I am more free spirited and she has become more like an attorney i.e. serious and focused.
Anyhow, I just wanted to let you all know that I am alive and well.

Crystal-
I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing. I can't even imagine what you must be feeling and going through right now. I check everyone's blog every two weeks or so, and have been trying to keep up on the goings-on in Bg. I'm glad to hear that PC got you home quickly and is giving you the time you need to be with your family. My phone number is 614-558-5432 if you get a chance to call, I would love to hear from you. Again, I am so sorry to hear what happened.
Take care
Katie
